MEVGAL S.A. - Danone Hellas: Collaboration for dairy products distribution

MEVGAL S.A. and Danone Hellas announce the start of an important collaboration. The partnership between the two companies will cover the co-distribution of dairy products.

Long history (respectively 90 years for Danone and 60 for Mevgal), common roots in the North Greece (both founders are Macedonia-native), deep knowledge of dairy production, strong respect of consumers, and innovative mindset are few of the common elements that brought together the two companies.

Danone is one of the most successful healthy food companies in the world. It operates in Greece as an  independent company since May 2005 and is one of the leading companies in the dairy sector, offering the following products in the Greek market: Activia (probiotic yogurt fermented by Bifidobacteria which helps regulate slow intestinal transit), Danonino (a kids’ yogurt with calcium and vitamin D that helps build strong bones), Actimel (probiotic drinking yogurt that helps to strengthen the body’s defence mechanisms) and Danette (dessert).

Mevgal is the largest milk company of Northern Greece and the third largest producer of fresh dairy products in the country.  It produces and distributes through an extensive nationwide distribution network a wide range of products based on the Greek fresh milk, such as: fresh milk Mevgal, traditional fermented drinking yogurts ARIANI & KEFIR, traditional greek style Yogurts, the range of strained yogurt and yogurt with fruits Harmony, and two of the most popular brands in the cheese market, Feta Mevgal and Makedoniko semi-hard cheese.
